Waste Check Education Coordinator, Anne LeBlanc, is happy to help you with all your education needs. Whether it be in the classroom, or for an organization, she is happy to provide education in both French and English. Waste Check offers a variety of waste education solutions for schools, community organizations and businesses.

Want to know what happens with the garbage, compost and recyclables that you put out for curbside collection? Our Education Coordinator can arrange for a tour of the following transfer stations:

Yarmouth County Solid Waste Park

Clare Transfer Station

Digby Transfer Station

If you are interested in visiting the Compost Facility, please let the Education Coordinator know as all compost for Yarmouth and Digby Counties is processed at the Yarmouth County Solid Waste Park.

DIVERT NS RESOURCES

Looking for a classroom or waste diversion curriculum? Divert NS offers curriculum-based lesson plans tailored to the learning outcomes for Grades Primary to 8 in Nova Scotia. These fun and interactive plans will help teach youth about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling – AND engage students to become environmental champions.
